For over 30 years, ULIK has stood for extraordinary ideas at the intersection of art, technology, and performance. As an artist, creative engineer, and producer, he develops his machines from the very first sketch to the final construction entirely by hand. His works are large, loud, absurd, seemingly useless—and always full of imagination. With ULIK Robotic, he fulfilled a long-held dream: bringing an industrial robot to life as a performance partner. With its six axes, the robot moves with precision, power, and surprising poetry creating an entirely new circus discipline. In 2018, ULIK Robotic was awarded the Innovation Prize by Cirque du Soleil at the World Circus Festival in Paris. This was followed by international engagements, including with Circus Roncalli and Cirque du Soleil, where the RoboPole was adapted for the Messi10 show and toured worldwide from 2019 to 2024. In 2021, Salto Robotale was created with funding from the Fonds Darstellende Künste. Since its premiere, the production has been successfully touring. The repertoire is further complemented by a wide range of robotic acts for festivals, street theatre formats, and events across Europe, as well as tailor-made productions for special occasions.
